Megumi entered the Culling Game initially to save her. He tried with all his willpower and later asked Yuji to help her too. However, he ended up almost killing her. As there was nothing left to save in the end. So Megumi gave her a proper funeral as she deserved it.

The opening scene is when Megumi and Shoko discuss the afterlife in a graveyard before Tsumiki’s grave. It was also mentioned that she was cremated as Shoko helped before burial. Tsumiki didn’t believe in an afterlife. However, they prepared her beautifully. So she looks beautiful in her afterlife. Next, Megumi received a call and left the graveyard. Next, Gakuganji is revealed. He mentions the remains of Sukuna are now absorbed by Tengen. As Megumi escaped Sukuna’s shadow, Tengen absorbed it.

This implies the fact that the veil will be cast on Japan for a long time. This news made Lori Utahime impatient. She began to strategize a plan but was advised to be patient. Later, Megumi and Yuji summed up that this is done by a cursed user. They decide that they and Nobara can eliminate this curse user. This concludes that the sorcerers will be having their ultimate battle as the finale of the manga series.

Speculations

At the beginning of the graveyard scene, fans were expecting to see Gojo. Gojo was not at graveyard. He was beloved by his students and he fought well against Sukuna. Yet, his absence was surprising for the readers. Moreover, the funeral was held for Tsumiki. But not Saturo Gojo. This lit a light of hope that Gojo might be alive. He might reappear again in another form. As his body was free after switching with Yuta. So fans might be right that Gojo will return.

Side characters are given more focus in this episode. Other characters like Amai, Higuruma, and Shimizu returned. There is a high chance that Geto might return. He was assumed dead after the fight with Kenjaku. His character and way of talking were similar to the Geto. Takaba has the power to turn back anything into reality. So there is a probability that might have brought Geto to life.
