Skull Cavern is the best place to find Iridium. It grows richer with Iridium as on every 10th floor, more new nodes spawn. So the deeper you go the more Iridium you can collect. But Skull Cavern is deadly as it’s filled with enemies and other dangers. Better to go prepared than to restart. Let’s get ready for the find Stardew Valley Iridium.

Skull Cavern

#1 Best Tool to Use

The best tool to use is the Iridium Pickaxe. Mining is a hectic and energy-draining activity so you need better tools. It is better to get your pickaxe upgraded. It helps to break rocks and ores easier and reserve your energy.

#2 Best Weapons to Carry

The best weapons to carry are the Infinity Gavel and Galaxy Hammer. These weapons can be used for tilting the soil and protection from enemies. You can use these swords to keep the enemies away and keep focusing to get more Iridium Ores. But these swords come at a cost. Players will have to use the Prismatic Shard to get any of these.

If you don’t have access to Prismatic Shard then you can use the Obisidian Edge. This is the only best option left. You can get it from Floor 90 of any regular mine.

#3 Extra Gear Materials

You can wear Space Boots and Cinderclown Shoes. Cinderclown Shoes from Volcano Dungeon Shop in Ginger Island is the ideal choice. If you have the access you can get them. Space Boots can be obtained from Floor 110 of regular mines.

For better defense, you can use the Iridium Band. In case you come across monsters, you can use special rings like Burglar’s RIng and Slime Charmers Rings. these will get you immune from all slimes and enhance the effects of the Iridium Band.

#4 Get More Energy

To work hard in mines, you must stay energetic. Players must eat foods like Salad as it is the best dish for healing. You can purchase it from Stardrop Saloon regularly or you can get 300 to 500 to stock them. Make sure you get Magma Caps and Purple Mushrooms. You can also use the Energy Tonic from Harvey’s Clinic. Pumpkin Soup is also another great option with +2 luck and defense.

To improve your speed, you can use Coffee and Triple Shot Espresso from Stardrop Saloon. Grab the pile of 300 to 500 with you to keep moving. Banana Pudding and Spicy Eel are other great options to consume as they increase luck and don’t need to be eaten much. You can take just 10 of each for longer use.

#5 Best Day to go in Skull Cavern

The best day to go is the best luck day announced on Welwick’s Oracle TV channel. They will announce “The spirits are very happy today!” is your day. Here are some preparations to do:

  • Grab some Bombs: Buy 250 to 300 bombs from the Dwarf living to the right of the main mine. There will be many rocks to blast so you will need Cherry Bombs. They are small and explode in sufficient range. Take some healing food items before it explodes. This will keep your health maintained after the explosion. This will clear the paths and help uncover more Iridium ores.
  • Piles up Stones: Stack 99 Stones to use as Stairs as it’s efficient. But it’s best to stack 999 Stones.
  • Organize your Toolbox: Remove the tools you will not use inside the Skull Cavern, such as Return Seeptor and Warp Totem. Your toolbox should have healing items, bombs, stones, an Iridium pickaxe, and foods that boost luck and energy.

#6 Beware of your Enemies

As you go deeper, you will face more enemies and monsters. Mummies are the easiest to deal with. Just knock with a bomb. However, Slimes can be more dangerous as their attack can slow your speed by 3 seconds. But the deadliest are the Serpents. These flying green dragon kind of creatures are hard to defeat. They move fast, hit hard, take many attempts, and even many can spawn out at once. You will hear a takeoff sound whenever one is coming out.

In the end, before entering the cavern eat speed and luck boosting foods. Use Bombs to clear your paths and use Stones to use them as staircases. Skip floors and better use the shafts. Pause the game if needed. Keep your eyes glued on the health bar. You don’t want to die after these efforts.
