How to get the Cure the Mole Rat Disease in Fallout 4

Fallout 4 has various resources to collect, join factions to survive, or join the Commonwealth to explore the Vaults. But these Vaults can bring dangerous situations. Such as opening Vault 81 can lead to the spread of the harshest disease; Mole rat disease. This disease is highly contagious and can spread easily. But luckily, there is a cure for it. What is Mole Rat Disease

Mole rats are actually the lab rats from the scientists of Vault-Tec. The disease spread by getting bitten by any experimented mole rat. This will result in -10 HP permanently. The Vault 81 was originally made to experiment on dwellers in search of a cure for every human disease.

These scientists were practicing undercover on these rats. Till they are ready to experiment on human bodies. But the Overseer changed the situation. Once the doctors were ready to shift experimentation from Mole rats to humans, he locked them inside a hidden corner of the Vault. Finally, Dwellers could live in peace now. But soon there was bad news.

Austin, a little boy stepped inside that hidden area. He was bitten by a mole rat and got infected with its disease. If he is not given the antidote or cure, he will die. This event will only be triggered by an event. If any player enters the Vault to give his blood to the Doctors and leave then this event will begin.

Now, the Overseer will ask the player to get back into the hidden area and get the cure. This means players might get infected with the disease too.

How to Cure Mole Rat Disease

To get the cure for the Mole Rat disease, the player will have to search for Curie in the hidden area. Curie is the scientist’s Mr Handy and has helped them to get the cure ready. But the cure can be used once only. This is the hardest decision to make. To whom will the player give the cure? Austin or himself.

If he gives the cure to Austin, he will always have the Mole Rat disease with -10 HP. If the players decide to keep the cure for themselves, then they will earn a room in Vault 81 but with -10 HP. However, not giving a cure to Austin will eventually kill him. It doesn’t have any long-lasting consequences. But it will be ethically wrong to kill a little kid.
