Good news for the Witcher 4 fans! CD Projekt Red has revealed hopeful news that has brought excitement to the fandom. CDPR management has confirmed in the latest reports that almost half its employees are working on this new RPG. With the codenamed Polaris, the Witcher is next in queue after the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty as a game expansion. The Witcher game was announced back in March 2022. This highly anticipated game is another title an RPG game fueled by Unreal Engine 5. Following the same path as Cyberpunk 2077. It’s a 20-month development timeline since the game title was announced.

The Cyberpunk game series developer, CD Projekt Red aka CDPR has revealed its earning reports. According to the reports, 330 or approx. 50% of the development staff is working on the Witcher 4 project till October 31, 2023. CD Projekt CEO, Adam Kiciński has also confirmed that more than 400 staff members are working on the Polaris project until mid-2024.

As per the CDPR’s latest finance reports, almost one-third of the staff is in support assistance for Cyberpunk 2077. The same team is marked as “in transfer” with several other team members who will join Project Polaris later. However, The Witcher 4 will surely be the first title from under-development RPG games like Project Orion to hit the market.

CD Projekt CEO, Adam Kiciński has previously confirmed that Project Polaris is being built in a new engine, Unreal Engine 5 which takes some extra effort. This indicates that there are still years before the game’s release. In an investor’s call, Kiciński was asked the question of whether the next mainline game timeline will be three years on average to build a smoother game. To which Kiciński replied yes.

CD Projekt Red Witcher 4 updates were extracted from the third quarter finance report. Almost half of the company employees are working on the mega tiles for support and development. But fans were expecting a release date but the three-year timeline news was heartbreaking.
