Stardew Valley: Tea Sapling
A Tea Sapling is a seed that finally grows into a Tea plant. This seed has a complete growth stage. It takes 20 days to grow into Tea Bush. Then, Tea Bush leaves produces a single tea leaf daily. This takes a week to grow into a fully grown Tea Plant. It takes approximately a month to grow from seed to a mature Tea plant.
Tea Saplings can grow in Spring, Summer, and Fall. You can also grow the Tea bushes in Winter indoors or in the greenhouse. The fully mature Tea plant can be then shifted to the Garden Pots or into untilled soil. The saplings don’t need water to grow. But first, you need to learn to unlock it first.
How to Unlock the Tea Saplings in Stardew Valley
Players can get the Tea Saplings by two different methods in-game. Let’s get to learn both methods.
#1 Friendship with Caroline
The first is to craft the tea saplings. This will require the help of a villager, Caroline to get the recipe. First, you should have a two-heart friendship event with her. If you have then you can proceed to get the recipe from her.
You have to go to her kitchen by passing through her sunroom. The player can go to her kitchen on a sunny day from 9 AM in the morning to 5 PM in the evening. Once you reach her kitchen, Caroline will interact with you and show her sunroom to you.
After this event, you can enter Caroline’s sunroom whenever you want. You will see a tea bush that can be grown. You can collect it. Or you can wait for the next morning after the event. As Caroline will mail you the recipe for the tea sapling. The recipe she will share is:
- 2x Wild Seeds
- 5x Fiber
- 5x Wood
In case you are not in a friendship with Caroline, then here’s what you need to do. You can gift hee are beloved things like Summer Spangle, Fish Taco, Green Tea, Tropical Curry, and All Universal Loves like Pearl.
#2 Travelling Cart
In case you are not in the good books of Caroline, then this method is for you. The second method is quick and easy. You can purchase the Tea Sapling from the Travelling Cart. The cart visits the northern areas of Cindesarp Forest of the Pelican Town only on Fridays and Sundays. So, you need to make sure that the cart’s stock does have it. In case you don’t get the tea saplings, then surely recheck it next week. The tea saplings will cost from 1500 to 2500 g.
Benefits of Tea Saplings
You can place the tea leaves in a keg to craft green tea. This process will take only in-game three hours to prepare the green tea. You can sell 140g for 100 g for extra energy. It’s overall a good git and liked by Caroline and Mayor Lewis.
You can produce pickled tea leaves by fermenting them in a jar for in-game 2 to 3 days. It’s overall not a very good gift to any villager in Pelican Town. And you can also use the tea bushes as fences for your privacy and safety. They don’t deteriorate with time so they are a better option.
